HUGO BOSS and McLaren celebrate the 30th anniversary of their partnership at ION Orchard in Singapore
21st September 2011 - Over the past three decades, HUGO BOSS and McLaren have been cooperating closely; the fashion company outfits McLaren with high-tech BOSS Black collections tailored precisely to the special demands of Formula One racing.
An exclusive event to celebrate this longest ever partnership between a team and sponsor in the realm of motor racing took place on the evening of 21st September. Over 100 VIP guests have been invited to the event to immerse in the celebration of this three-decade partnership. Vodafone McLaren Mercedes Formula One race driver, Jenson Button made a special appearance to share his racing experience with the guests. International Chinese model Philip Huang also attended the event.
The event was part of the global campaign "Dress Me for the Finale" which has been specially created to celebrate the anniversary of the partnership. "Dress Me for the Finale" is an international design competition which will run throughout 2011 and give motor sports fans the chance to design the race overalls for Lewis Hamilton und Jenson Button.
HUGO BOSS and McLaren have selected one winning design per country to be worn by the drivers during the qualifying race on the Saturday of the local Grand Prix.
For Singapore, the winner is Mr Kien Lee, Founder of SENATUS, a luxury and lifestyle online magazine. The winning design was showcased during the event at ION Orchard on 21st September 2011.
At the end of the Formula One season, one winner will then be chosen from all the national finalists. His or her design will be worn by both Vodafone McLaren Mercedes drivers throughout the weekend at the season’s final Grand Prix in Sao Paolo.
To mark the 30th anniversary of this exciting partnership, a special exhibition featuring the world of “style and speed” was presented at the atrium of ION Orchard in Singapore, from 19 – 25 September 2011.
